Yes, bubbles are very hard to shoot. I bought my daughter one of those gigantic wands that you're supposed to hold up and let the wind make the bubbles and the result is this long tube of a bubble that resembles the watery guest in the movie Abyss ..you know the one that sneaks into the crew's quarters when everyone is asleep? If you haven't seen that movie you must. Anyway, it was so hard getting a photo of that cool looking thing but you've done very well here with this orb. Very crisp and the dof is excellent.

I'm rambling. *sigh*

Cheers, it was patients and a hell of alot of tries. Thank god for digital cameras
I tried to get some outside shots... and that didn't work at all because the wind would cary them quickly.

Maybe I should try inside

Indoors is best. I found that my auto focus was having trouble focusing on the bubble so i used manual focus. I set the focus to as close as i could to get a clear shot, then moved into the bubble till i saw it was clear and then snapped away. That way you didn't have to wait for the camera to focus and waste seconds, the bubbles never last very long. Sorry if that made no sense whatsoever, i'm not very good at writing what i mean. Good luck
It makes sence!
Thanks for the advice. I think my problem was that when I snaped the shot the bubble was in focus but because it was constantly in motion because of the wind outside (not that there was much but the air was not completley still) by the time the shot took the bubble had moved out of focus.
I'll try following your advice to see if I can get a better shot =)
